Tuition Fees

The annual tuition fees of both University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded and self-financed programmes are reviewed and approved by the Administrative and Planning Committee under the delegation of authority by the University Council. Normally, the annual tuition fees are payable by two equal instalments, but self-financed programmes could determine the number of instalments according to their own schedules.

The HKSAR Government has announced the tuition fee levels for UGC-funded full-time undergraduate, taught postgraduate and research postgraduate programmes for the 2025/26 to 2027/28 academic years:

Academic Year Amount
2025-26 $44,500 per annum
2026-27 $47,000 per annum
2027-28 $49,500 per annum

All eligible students in a particular academic year shall be subject to the tuition fee at the prevailing rate of the academic year concerned, rather than being locked at the rate of the academic year of admission.

For more details of other tuition and related fees, please refer to the University Calendar and websites of Registry and Graduate School.

Hostel Fees

Undergraduate and postgraduate students, who have been allocated hostel places, are required to pay hostel fees which normally cover a two-term (September to May) residence period. Undergraduate hostel fees are payable in two payments, whiles those for Postgraduate Halls are payable on a monthly basis.

The following websites provide further details on student hostels:

Caution Money

As stipulated in the Student Handbook, Caution money shall be payable as a deposit to make good any outstanding debts to the University incurred in, for example, damages to University property. This sum less any deductions made for outstanding debts shall be refunded on discontinuation or withdrawal of studies at the University. For graduating students, caution money shall be converted into graduation fee, which shall be payable by all students on completion of their studies.

Student Union Fees

Student Union entrance and annual fees are collected on behalf of the respective Student Unions. College Student Association fees are collected on behalf of the respective College Student Associations. For details, please contact the respective Student Unions and College Student Associations.
